Under Article 153 of the Labour Code, work on public holidays and weekly rest days is prohibited except in continuous production plants, healthcare, and emergency services. Employees required to work on an official holiday must be paid at not less than double the standard rate (двойной размер):

2. Hourly employees receive not less than double hourly tariff rates;
3. Salaried employees receive single daily rate if within monthly quota, or double daily rate if exceeding monthly working time norms.
