Book this tour No booking fees!Upon arrival Tan Son Nhat airport, meet by our guide and take a transfer to your hotel. Check in your room and fresh up after a long flight.
Spend the morning for a guided tour to some of the most important attractions in Ho Chi Minh City. The trip begins with striking French colonial structures including the Independence Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Saigon Post Office. You also visit the Jade Emperor Pagoda, one of the best examples of Taoist temples in Vietnam.
In the afternoon, depart from Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi tunnels. As the city fades into the background, observe life along the river and the many new ‘weekend’ homes being built by the Saigonese. Arriving Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground network of approximately 200km constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence. The tunnels contained hospitals, accommodation and schools, and were used as a military base for the Viet Cong in the American War.
Drive about 4 hours northeast from Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne in Phan Thiet to start your beach break. Phan Thiet has an interesting history and was once at the heart of the Vietnam War, but those days are long gone. Today it’s a hub to explore the city centre with its impressive flag tower and brightly coloured fishing boats bobbing in the harbor.
The next two days are yours to spend entirely as you please. Grab one of the resort’s bicycles and explore the town and country roads, or jump in a jeep for a giant sand dune adventure. If all that tires you out, relax with a massage or treatment at the spa! And of course you don’t forget to enjoy cocktails and seafood by the sea!
There is one more day for you to explore Phan Thiet at your own plan. Optional to take a trip out to the Ke Ga Lighthouse built by the French in 1899 and climb the steps to the top for panoramic views all round. Or enjoy a day out in the nearby Ta Kuo nature reserve to visit an ancient pagoda that houses Vietnam’s largest reclining Buddha at 49m long!
It’s your last chance for a dip in the sea before returning to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon.
