Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia are generally considered very safe countries. Nevertheless, thefts occur, especially in the larger cities such as Ho Chi Minh or Phnom Penh. We recommend to refrain from wearing valuable and highly visible jewelery if you walk the streets of big cities. If you are using cell phones and cameras to take pictures, it is important they keep the gadgets safe. Thefts of such devices by passing motorcycles are unfortunately quite common. If something is stolen, please inform your tourist guide and report the theft to the police on the same day. Get in contact with us - we will help you with bureaucracy and refund! It is advisable in any case, to sign up for an appropriate travel insurance (for theft).

Vietnam is at GMT +7, in the same time zone as Bangkok. 12 hours ahead of New York, 7 hours ahead of London, 1 hour behind Perth and 3 hours behind Sydney.

There are no hidden cost from what you can see on our website. Only if you are travelling during Christmas, New Years or Lunar New Years (beginning of February, check calander) additional costs might arise from price increases from suppliers and third parties, including formal restaurants at or outside the hotel, transportation and tour guides. 

As our culture tipping and thanks is the way you appreciate any people to encourage them always enhance services for the better environment, we suggest bellow for each services

• Restaurant: Some restaurant already included services charge which you do not need to tips, some do not included tips expecting is 10% from your total bill.
• Hotels: Bell man who take care of your luggage equivalent US$1.00/bag.
• Boatman: About US$5.00 for a boat ride (There are some small boats ride may be included in the tour program) 
• Cruise crew: From US$3.00 to US$5.00 per person tips for entire crew (The captain should be the one who receive your bonus)
• Drivers (Big bus): US$2.00 per person daily for both driver and his assistant 
• Driver mini van or car: US$3.00 per person daily 
• Tour guide: US$5.00 to US$10.00 per person daily (group from 2 - 8 pax)
• Tour guide: US$3.00 to US$7.00 per person daily (group from 9 pax and more) 

Although the US dollar is widely available as form of payment, it is recommended to carry a certain amount of local currency with you at any time in order to pay things in everyday life. In small shops and on the street paying with dollars barely ever possible. In larger cities and major stores (boutiques, supermarkets, etc.) you can usually pay by credit card, though payment with foreign cards might cause a small fee.
