Tam Dao National Park

Tam Dao National Park is based in the Tam Dao range, which is one of the terminal spurs of a larger mountainous area in Tay Bac, Viet Nam. It runs 80 km from north west to south east, and has more than 20 peaks with altitudes of over 1000m. The highest summit is Tam Dao North with an altitude of 1592 m. Three other peaks with beautiful scenery are Thien Thi at 1375 m, Thach Ban at 1388 m and Phu Nghia at 1300 m. Sharp peaks with sloping sides and numerous, deep partitions are characteristic of the topology.

Tam Dao National Park is a precious resource repository, a place to keep a high biodiversity with many species of rare endemic plant, where reserves, conservation and restoration of the genetic resources for scientific research and study for scientists and students in the country as well as internationally. Tam Dao forest has many species of rare medicinal plants as sources of medicine so useful for people around the area.

Tourism activities
Bird watching
Currently Tam Dao National Park has 239 species of birds found in 140 varieties of the 50 families. Highest diversity is Passerine with 147 species belonging to 73 branches of 26 families. The second is Piciformes with 15 species after the next is Citronella with 12 species ... Of the 239 species of birds have been discovered up to 9 species is endemic to northern Vietnam, and 5 species are endemic to Vietnam (Grey Peacock-Pheasant, Blue-naped Pitta, Bar-backed Partridge, Long-tailed Minivet, Sooty-headed Bulbul ...)

Fauna and Flora
Visitors will walk along the footpaths only birds and flowers to enjoy the fresh air that only new here. Guests will be introduced about the value of some species of rare plants endemic only in Tam Dao:- Tam Dao salamander, two species major bears in Vietnam (Asian black bear, Sloth bear), Blue-naped Pitta, Long-tailed Minivet..., flying mammals when visiting Dong Doi.- The species of Orchids, Cymbidium ... Special Tam Dao Orchids only appear at Tam Dao National Park

Trekking in the forest and watching azalea
On the route tourists can see a lot of insects, birds and small mammals... Especially you can be happy and relaxed while walking on a thick litter layer of typical low forest on the mountain, watching azalea forest, viewing the majestic mountain when conquer the three peaks and panoramic away.
