Phong Nha is located in Quang Binh province, central Vietnam. 40km from Dong Hoi in the northwest, the pretty provincial capital! The total area of the Phong Nha – Ke Bang limestone range is over 200,000 hectares, including 86,000 hectares belonging to Laos. The Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park protects 85,754 hectares and with a enlarged area of 30hectares in 2008. A high percentage of the forest is primary, and it harbours around 132 large animal species and is a haven for over 338 species of birds. Rare plants include medicinal herbs, sandalwood, and dipterocarp trees. Many of these plants and animals are to be found in the lists of the Viet Nam Red Data book of endangered species.
Attractive Destination:- Phong Nha Cave, yet to be fully surveyed, it is at least 18km deep, and is part of the longest underwater river in the world. Spectacular stalactites and stalagmites create fantastic images, and are home to many species of bats and cave creatures.
- Forest and limestone karst mountains, a scenic wonder, especially in the early morning mist, shrouded in whirls of fine cloud. It is an extremely spiritual place. The mountains cover an area of 200,000 hectares and still retain a large percentage of primary forest.

- Wealth of biodiversity and rare species – such as the tiger, sao la deer and endemic monkeys, as well as valuable plants and trees.
- Phong Nha is an area of great historical and cultural importance to Vietnam, containing a large section of the famed Ho Chi Minh Trail, the site of many heroic deeds and representing Vietnam’s determination for independence.
