This trip takes you from Hanoi, the capital city to the heritage sites of Halong Bay, Hue and Hoian, then end up in Ho Chi Minh city after visits to Tay Ninh temple, Cu Chi Tunnels, Mekong Delta, Vientiane capital and UNESCO World Heritage Town of Luang Prabang.

  • Day 1 Arrival - Vientiane

    On arrival in Vientiane transfer to your hotel, enjoy the evening free at leisure. Overnight in Vientiane.

    Day 2 Vientiane - Luang Prabang

    Our tour will start with the thousands of miniature Buddha’s at Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple in the city and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo which used to house the Emerald Bhudda, now in Bangkok, Thailand. We’ll then take a short ride across the city to see the National symbol of Laos which is the ‘That Luang Stupa ‘and stop at the imposing Patuxay Monument Laos Arch de Triumph a reminder of the French Colonial period. Transfer to the airport for the afternoon flight to Luang Prabang. Free at leisure in Luang Prabang to enjoy this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Town.

    Day 3 Luang Prabang - Big Brother mouse - Ban Khia Luang - Pak Ou Caves

    After breakfast, take a long tail boat journey along the Nam-Ou & Mekong Rivers, to see the fascinating Pak Ou caves, which in fact are a cave system of two interlinked caves, crammed full of Buddha statues left behind by pilgrims over generations and then we’ll observe the traditional process of rice wine distillation in Ban Sanghai. Return to Luang Prabang stopping by at Big Brother Mouse which sells books to promote Literacy in Laos here you can buy some books to donate to the local village we will visit at Ban Khia Luang, before returning to Luang Prabang.

    Day 4 Luang Prabang - Khuang Si Waterfall - Ban Chan

    Spend the day at Khuang Si Waterfall about 30mins from Luang Prabang, the waterfall is set in a natural jungle setting and you will have plenty of time to relax or swim in its turquoise cool pools. Continue by boat to Ban Chan a local village just outside Luang Prabang famous for traditional pottery making watch the process of pots being made on traditional ovens before returning to Luang Prabang mid afternoon.

    Day 5 Luang Prabang - Hanoi

    For those early risers you have a fantastic opportunity to take part in the daily morning ritual of Alms giving to the saffron-clad monks who walk along in single file collecting offerings, normally food. This is a unique tradition throughout Laos and the monks are fully supported by the local residents.

    Visit the Laotian Royal Palace officially known as Haw Kham which was built during the French colonial era for the King and his family. The site was chosen so that official visitors to Luang Prabang could disembark from their river voyages directly by palace and be received there. In 1975, the monarchy was overthrown and the Palace was then converted into a National museum. Today it houses many artifacts which showcase the richness of Laotian culture. Transfer to the airport for your onward departure.

    Transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. On arrival, you are met and transferred to your hotel. Then you are free. Overnight in Hanoi.

    Day 6 Hanoi city tour - Halong bay

    Your private Vietnam holiday starts after breakfast at hotel, followed by a full day city tour starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex, containing the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi Minh, the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts. Close to this site is the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origin dates back to the foundation of Hanoi a thousand years ago. Your tour of Hanoi continues with a trip to the remarkable Temple of Literature, well known as Vietnam’s first university. A local restaurant for your lunch would be an experience of the Vietnam holiday. Later, you’ll visit History museum and enjoy a walk around the peaceful Hoan Kiem Lake and through the bustling Old quarter city of Hanoi then depart in a private vehicle for Halong Bay, truly one of Vietnam’s most impressive sights and a World Heritage Site. Overnight in a hotel in Halong.

    Day 7 Halong bay cruise - Hanoi - Hue

    After breakfast you'll be taken to the harbour and board a junk departure at 07:30 for a magical four-hour cruise around Ha Long Bay, made world famous by James Bond in Tomorrow Never Dies. You'll have the opportunity to explore the picturesque scenery and some 3,000 limestone islands rising vertically from the emerald water. The extraordinary limestone kart formations are full of hidden beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. Along the way you'll anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an enjoyable visit to one of the many hidden grottoes beneath the cliffs. After a seafood lunch on board, disembark and return to Hanoi, stopping en route at Dong Trieu pottery village, Dong Ho painting and But Thap pagoda before transferring to airport for your flight to Hue – Vietnam’s last feudal capital. This small and quiet city is widely known for its magnificent architecture, pagodas and royal tombs laid in many small villages and surrounding hills. Overnight in Hue

    Day 8 Hue tour

    In the morning you will be met at hotel to take a short drive to explore the massive Hue citadel built in 1832 followed by Western architecture combining with Eastern citadel containing the Imperial City and the Purple Forbidden City. This Royal Residence was destroyed during the 1968 Tet Offensive but with renovating by a great work of local artist will hold you back to know more about Nguyen dynasty.

    Trip continue to Minh Mang Mausoleum located on Cam Khe mountain by the tip top of Perfume River, the construction built within 3 years 1840 – 1843 by at 10.000 workers & artists. Minh Mang emperor was the 2nd King under Nguyen Dynasty who was tightening country relationships & change name to Dai Viet for more power and influence in the region and international. Continue the trip you will board for Dragon boat to cruise downstream river to visit charming of Thien Mu pagoda built in 1601 lying on the top of Ha Khe hill by side of the river, hidden behind 7 layers of Phuoc Duyen tower. Overnight in Hue.

    Day 9 Hue - Danang - Hoian old town

    Upon leaving Hue you drive south to Hoian, which was originally a Cham seaport but has been influenced down the centuries by traders from various cultures. The scenic road is hugging the coastline before crossing over the winding Hai Van pass. A view from the top of the pass is one of Vietnam’s most impressive panoramic scenes of Lang co Beach. You stop en route to visit Non Nuoc Beach, Marble Mountain, whose peaks represent the five elements of the universe and the Cham Museum in Danang City before reach Hoian old town. Overnight in Hoian

    Day 10 Hoian City tour

    The ancient architecture of Hoian is a fascinating combination of Vietnamese traditional buildings with Chinese and Japanese influence. There’s plenty to see in this delightful town, some of which are the famous Japanese Covered Bridges, Pottery Museum, 200 years old Tan Ky House, Chua Ong Pagoda and vibrant market. Today we include these on a walking tour past many low tiled houses scattered along the small streets and assembly halls, which reflect the town's multi-cultural past. You’ll understand why many visitors come to Hoi An again and again. In spite of the beautiful setting, many visitors site the food as the highlight of their trip to Hoi An – ask your guide for a recommendation! Overnight in Hoian.

    Day 11 Hoian - Danang - Ho Chi Minh

    An early morning transfer to Danang airport for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival you'll guided round of some of the most important attractions in Ho Chi Minh City, beginning with the Reunification Palace, which was the former residence of the Southern Vietnam President until the end of April 1975. Close to the palace are some striking French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Saigon Post Office. You'll also visit the Jade Emperor Pagoda, one of the best examples of Taoist temples in Vietnam, and the War Remnant Museum. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.

    Day 12 Ho Chi Minh - Cuchi tunnel - Tay Ninh Temple

    After an early breakfast you’ll avoid the city heat to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence. The tunnels contained hospitals, plus accommodation and schools, and were used as a military base for the Viet Cong in the American war. Afterwards, you'll continue to the headquarters of Cao Dai religious sect which is located in Tay Ninh. This religion was founded in 1923 and now numbers over 2 million members. It’s an unusual religion with an eclectic mix of different saints from different religions, and has Victor Hugo and Charlie Chaplin as patron saints. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.

    Day 13 Ho Chi Minh - Mekong delta travel

    Today you'll head out of the city for the Mekong Delta, the rice bowl of Vietnam. You'll travel by road to My Tho province about 1:30 drive, arriving in My Tho, where you board a boat navigating around the small canals in the Mekong Delta, and you'll have the chance to observe the local lifestyles close-up. Pass through the lush green vegetation to an orchard you can observe various fascinating local industries. After feasting on a huge lunch followed with Elephant ear fish, seasonal fruits, return to Ho Chi Minh. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.

    There is some free time for your own exploration in Ho Chi Minh until we transfer to airport for your flight departure. The trip ends at airport.
