Your day tour start by a short drive to out skirt of Hanoi where you have chance to visit Dong Ngac, an ancient village recognized as a Cultural Heritage Site. Here, you will first visit the bustling local market which is bursting with the scents and colors of local life. With the help of your guide, you can chat with the vendors and purchase some items appropriate as offerings for the ancestral houses you will visit in the village.
From Dong Ngac Market it is a short walk to your host family’s house, where you’ll enjoy a welcome drink. Then you take a biking trip to visit Communal House and the oldest houses in village then pass by the village gate and its oldest school, built in 1921. Return to the host family for Vietnamese cooking demonstration and enjoy delicious lunch in the peaceful, lush garden atmosphere of this village home.
Back to city centre in early afternoon, you will visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university. The day is followed by a cyclo tour through Hanoi’s bustling Old Quarter then finish with a traditional water puppet performance at Thang Long theatre.
